BIO

MICHAEL SMALL co-wrote the book (with BT McNicholl) for the musical The IT Girl, which premiered at Off Broadway's York Theater in 2001 and is performed regionally. His new musical, The History of Light, has a reading at LA's La Mirada Theater in August 2018, directed by Gregg Edelman with reinvented songs by Gilbert and Sullivan arranged by Larry Yurman. Small's farce Kaboom! was in the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival and his play The Cool Club had a site-specific run at NYC's CBGB-313. Other works, which were performed in readings at New York City's HOWL Festival, include: Beautiful Foolish Arms, Got You, Steve Cohen and The Sweet Spot, and We'll Be Fine. A former writer and editor at People magazine, he later became a website manager for Entertainment Weekly, Rolling Stone, NBC News, and MSNBC, among others. He is now the host of the podcast I Couldn't Throw It Out (throwitoutpodcast.com)
