Every summer Houston audiences gear up for Theatre Under the Stars' (TUTS) free summer musical at the Miller Outdoor Theatre. Top-notch talent and a free price tag make these summer productions an event that is too good to miss. This year, TUTS will be filling the Miller Outdoor Theatre with one whopping Texas treat, THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS. Taking time out of their busy rehearsal schedule cast member Michael Tapley and choreographer Shay Rodgers talked to BWW-Houston to fill us in on why Houston audiences don't want to miss this summer show!

THE BEST LITTLE WHOREHOUSE IN TEXAS is a light-hearded musical based on the notorious Texas born brothel 'Chicken Ranch.' Thanks to a silent agreement between the madam, Miss Mona Stangley, and Sheriff Ed Earl Dodd (based on good ol' boy Sheriff Jim Flournoy), things are all quiet on the range. But when flashy, young reporter Melvin P. Thorpe (based on the late, great Houstonite Marvin Zindler) reveals the ranch to the town, sparks fly high in the heart of Texas.

Theatre Under The Stars (TUTS) presents the new holiday classic, Elf The Musical, running tomorrow, Dec. 6 - 22 at Hobby Center's Sarofim Hall. Making his TUTS debut as the loveable 'elf' Buddy is Tommy J. Dose. He played Alfred Doolittle in the national tour of My Fair Lady and has circulated the regional theatre scene with companies including the Fulton Theatre, the Lancaster Symphony Orchestra, and the Cumberland County Playhouse.
