BIO
Michael T. Williams is Co-Artistic Director of Antigravity Performance Project and a Brooklyn-based ensemble and physical performance artist. His directing and performance work mines the interdisciplinary territories between theatre and the greater performing, visual, and literary arts. With Antigravity and solo Michael has worked with La MaMa, Soho Rep, New Ohio, Williamstown Theatre Festival, FringeArts, Pig Iron, MCC, Trinity Rep, and in Arena Stage's 'Downstairs Series' and 'Voices of Now' Festival. Michael teaches full-time for the Humanities Department at CUNY City Tech. BA Brown University (Theatre/Education Studies) and MFA UArts/Pig Iron (Theatre, Devised Performance). The Civilians will present the newest members of The R&D Group, marking the Group's 10th season, and The Civilians 20th Anniversary Season. The R&D Group is comprised of playwrights, composers, and directors who work together as a writing group for nine months to develop new plays and musicals.
