Michael is 44 and has been involved in professional, semi-professional, and amateur theatre most of his life throughout mid-Michigan, and in Europe. His versatility, directorial ability, and the workshops in acting, directing, producing, music, and stage combat; he has provided workshops that have benefited community theatres, and high school dramatics and forensics in many locales. A talented character actor, he has wowed audiences and critics alike, receiving glowing reviews, accolades, awards, and honors in every venue he has taken up from performance to direction, and musical direction. His performances have been described as "a tour-de-force," "wonderfully haughty," "polished," "extraordinary," "flawless," and "a rapidly-flowing river." While in the Army, he was a regular with U.S. Army Entertainment, Europe, and his wide-range of age portrayal have won him many parts meant for both younger and older actors. He is also an excellent amateur make-up artist, a fact that has allowed him to play roles as old as 80, and to transform others to do the same. Mr. Meakin has been an asset to every organization he has worked with, both on and off stage.
