Bad Times Theatre to Premiere BOX 4901 by Brian Francis
Timeshare performance today released new casting and production details for the world premiere of Box 4901, written by and starring Brian Francis, and co-created and directed by Rob Kempson. Box 4901 will play in Toronto at Buddies in Bad Times Theatre from February 27 to March 8, with opening night on February 28. Tickets are on sale now at buddiesinbadtimes.com.
Young'uns Add Northwest Dates to Debut U.S. Tour
Just as election season is heating up in America, British folk trio The Young'uns are set to return to the U.S. and bring their unique brand of social commentary to venues in the Pacific Northwest following their August debut U.S. tour. Named 'Best Group' at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards two years in a row (2015 and 2016), they introduced their trademark harmonies, honesty and humour to American audiences during a series of east coast shows that included their debut appearance at the annual Philadelphia Folk Festival. Their tour continues with shows in Washington State and northwest Canada beginning October 24.

The season reflects Arena Stage's commitment to championing diverse voices. Arena is committed to leading the way in gender equity and racial diversity by reflecting those values both on and off the stage. This season over half of our playwrights and directors are represented as women and people of color. The 70th anniversary also celebrates Arena's vision to produce new work with three world premieres, including the seventh Power Play, a decade-long initiative focused on stories of politics and power from 1776 to present day. As part of Arena's mission to serve artists on a national, regional and local scale, three exciting collaborations will take place with the Dallas Theater Center, Oregon Shakespeare Festival and American Conservatory Theater.

Recipients Announced For Montreal English Theatre Awards

At a community and media event held at the Monument-National's cafe on Thursday September 6th, The Montreal English Theatre Awards Committee announced the nominees for this year's Awards Ceremony. The Montreal English Theatre Awards (METAs) recognize and celebrate outstanding artistic work in Montreal's English Theatre. Established in 2012, the peer-juried awards exist to promote professional and emerging English theatre artists and companies, to heighten their visibility both regionally and beyond, and to elevate the level of critical discourse about theatre in Montreal amongst artists and with the community at large.
