R.Evolución Latina's Camp Celebrates 10 Years!
R.Evolucion Latina (RL) is celebrating it's 10th Annual Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp that will take place July 31st - August 4th in midtown Manhattan. During this decade hundreds of Broadway and NYC artists have donated their time to support the mission of empowering the Latino community through the performing arts.

Dare to Go Beyond (D2GB) Children's Performing Arts Camp, an initiative of R.Evolucion Latina, successfully ended its run on Friday August 2nd. More than 200 kids, ages 7-17, gathered at the headquarters of Pearl Studio to share their experiences, learn to dance, sing and narrate their stories in creative ways and with a fascinating focus: Cultural Exchange. During the five-day camp participants took classes with some of the most experienced actors, dancers, and choreographers working on Broadway today. Check out a look back below!

R.Evolución Latina Hosts 2013 Beyond Workshop Series, Now thru 3/28
R.Evolucion Latina's 2013 BWS program is celebrating cultural exchange for the first time awarding 52 scholarships, 18 of which were given to international students from Peru and Colombia inviting them to participate in the program and join students from NYC. The educational empowerment program has been re-designed to create well rounded performing artists by immersing students in classes of the 3 disciplines that are the components of musical theatre - acting, dance and voice. Classes will take place at the National Institute of dance in Harlem and students been that have selected will commit to 2 intense weeks of training.

R.Evolución Latina ofrece clases de Danza, Shakespeare y Vocal Ensemble, como parte del 2012 Beyond Workshop Series. Esta organización utiliza la educación en las artes y su programación para animar a la comunidad latina a descubrir su verdadero potencial. Este programa de 4 semanas será un reto para que los artistas puedan desarrollar en profundidad las cualidades técnicas de su especialidad a la vez que potencian su autoestima y sus cualidades de liderazgo con criterio.

R.Evolución Latina to present a four-week BEYOND WORKSHOP Series. This 4-week professional and leadership development program provides hours of training to artists through a series of classes in such disciplines as voice, acting, and various dance styles.

Photo Coverage: Jordin Sparks Opens in HEIGHTS - The After Party
The 2008 Tony and Grammy Award-winning Best Musical In The Heights welcomed platinum recording artist and 2007 'American Idol' winner Jordin Sparks on August 19th, making her Broadway debut as Nina Rosario at Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre (226 West 46th Street). Sparks will play a limited 12 week engagement through Sunday, November 14, 2010. To celebrate Jordin's official opening in the show this week, Sparks and the cast of IN THE HEIGHTS celebrated at Angus McIndoe. BroadwayWorld brings you photo coverage of the party below.

R.Evolucion Latina Announces The Formation of Nueva Escena And Its Inaugural Production SALSA GORDA
R.Evolución Latina, New York City's non-for-profit collective of artists and activists committed to inspiring growth within the Latino Community, is pleased to announce the formation of Nueva Escena (New Scene), a new theater company created by young Puerto Rican artists living and working in New York City. Nueva Escena's premiere production is SALSA GORDA, a play with music written by José Luis Ramos Escobar.

Luis Salgado who currently plays 'Jose' in the Tony Award winning musical In The Heights is not only beginning rehearsals as a coach and Latin Assistant choreographer for the first National Tour of In The Heights, which is scheduled to go out on the road in October, but is also working as the choreographer for Salsa Gorda the play.
