In dieser Spielzeit widmet sich das Theater Nordhausen einem Klassiker der Film- und Musicalgeschichte, „Singin' in the Rain'. Basierend auf dem Musikfilm mit Gene Kelly aus dem Jahre 1952, entstanden in der Hochzeit dieses Genres, wurde 1985 das Musical auf dem New Yorker Broadway uraufgefuhrt. Drehbuch und Adaptierung stammen aus den Federn des bekannten Duos Betty Comden und Adolph Green, die Musik wurde von Nacio Herb Brown und Arthur Freed beigesteuert.

Seit 28. Marz steht wieder ein Musical auf dem Spielplan des Theaters Nordhausen: „Singin' in the Rain' von Herb Brown und Arthur Freed, das Buhnenmusical nach dem weltberuhmten Film mit Gene Kelly. Die Figuren verleihen ihrer Gefuhlslage singend, tanzend und herrlich steppend Ausdruck. So wie Entertainer Don Lockwood, der so verliebt ist, dass es ihm nichts ausmacht, „im Regen zu singen'.
