Michael is an award winning scenic designer working in theater, television, and live events. His recent work includes the Broadway debuts of Ruben Santiago-Hudson’s Lackawanna Blues and Dominique Morrisseau’s Skeleton Crew, international productions of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Billy Elliot the Musical in Sao Paulo, Brazil, premieres of Katori Hall's The Hot Wing King (2021 winner Pulitzer Prize for Drama) at Signature Theatre Company, and The Blood Quilt (Arena Stage), Dominique Morrisseau's Mud Row (People’s Light), Lauren Gunderson's I and You (59E59), Noah Heidle's Birthday Candles, Ruben Santiago-Hudson's Your Blues Ain't Sweet Like Mine, Quiara Alegria Hudes The Happiest Song Plays Last (Second Stage), and the acclaimed Signature Theatre revival of August Wilson's The Piano Lesson, and The Marvelous Wonderettes. He has collaborated with directors such as Joel Grey, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Kamilah Forbes, Steven Broadnax III, Charles Randolph-Wright, Christopher Ashley, Neil Pepe, Roger Bean, Austin Pendleton, among many others. Michael has won numerous awards and nominations for his design work. He is a graduate of the Savannah College of Art & Design. He lives in Brooklyn with his dog, Beau.
