Skylight Music Theatre Will Present Documentary Screenings of MIDSUMMER IN NEWTOWN

Skylight Music Theatre announced two free screenings of Midsummer in Newtown, an award-winning documentary about the power of the performing arts to heal the children and community of Newtown, CT following the Sandy Hook Elementary School tragedy. The screenings are free and open to the general public. Those who work in education and the arts community are especially encouraged to attend.

Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School Drama Department presents A ROCKIN' Midsummer Night's Dream - a regional premiere adaptation of Shakespeare's play in a new musical version adapted by Michael Unger and Eric Svejcar with a score by Mr. Svejcar. Orchestrations are by Broadway's Kim Scharnberg. Performances are set for March 7th, 8th, & 9th, 2019 beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School (5901 Pine Island Drive, Parkland, FL). NewArts Announces Its Summer 2016 Season: Featuring Nearly 200 Newtown Area Children

NewArts, a nonprofit theatrical production organization in Newtown, CT, is producing its sixth and seventh shows for its summer, 2016 season incorporating nearly 200 children from the Newtown area onstage, backstage and in the orchestra as a continuation of its mission to use the performing arts to promote healing and strength. NewArts was founded by local parent, Michael Baroody, M.D. and brings in a talented team of nearly 20 theatre professionals including Broadway-level directors, choreographers, music directors, designers, producers, and technicians to guide the children in this endeavor of creativity, collaboration and community.
