The fourth annual ALPHABET SOUP STORIES FROM QUEER VOICES opened Friday, April 12, at the Squeezebox Theatre in Kansas City, Missouri to a full house. The short play showcase produced by Whim Productions runs through April 21 at the small intimate theater. The showcase features seven plays all written by members of the LGBTQ community, exploring aspects of the homosexual lifestyle.

Creative Time is proud to announce its first musical release: the house album Bring Down The Walls, a benefit compilation featuring covers of the most enduring house hits. Each track is a collaboration between formerly incarcerated vocalists and cutting-edge electronic musicians. The album is available as a pay-what-you-wish download on Bandcamp, with proceeds going to Critical Resistance, a grassroots organization building an international movement to end the prison industrial complex. Kansas City's New Opera Company To Perform Bon Operatit
Established to perform intimate and unique opera performances, Opera180 is launching its 2018 season with the highly interactive production of Bon Operatit. Performing at the Squeezebox Theatre on April 27-29, this exciting event will consist of three parts including composer Lee Hoiby's Bon Appetit based on Julia Child, a cooking demonstration by a local KC chef, and Jennifer Jolley's Krispy Kremes and Butter Queens inspired by the colorful Paula Deen.
Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra and Bainbridge Chorale Join Forces for CARMINA BURANA
Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra (BSO) and Bainbridge Chorale join forces for another extraordinary partnership on April 22 and 23. Together they will perform iconic sacred works by Mozart, Beethoven, and Brahms before turning their attention to Carl Orff's famed Carmina Burana. Led by conductors Wesley Schulz and Michael Austin Miller, this thrilling collaboration features the Bainbridge Symphony Orchestra, Bainbridge Chorale, Olympic Girls Choir, Jessica Robins Milanese (soprano), and Paul Karaitis (tenor/baritone). The BSO and the Chorale last collaborated in the spring of 2014 for a production of Vaughan Williams' Serenade to Music and Verdi's Requiem.
Wichita College Censors 'Derogatory' Lyrics in LEGALLY BLONDE
Newman University in Wichita, Kan., made changes to its production of LEGALLY BLONDE THE MUSICAL, according to an article in the student newspaper The Vantage, due to the 'appropriateness' of some of its content. The show opened on November 20th and ran through the weekend.
