BIO

Michael Aquino is a Cuba-Rican performer born in the urbanlands of northern New Jersey. He is the co-producer for Cocotazo Media (www.cocotazomedia.com), which produces creative audio for all ears. He is also a professional actor and has performed at regional and NYC stages including Luna Stage, The American Globe, George Street Playhouse, Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, The NY International Fringe Festival, and Playwrights Theatre of NJ. He is a co-creator of Mi Casa Tu Casa, a bilingual stage production (micasashow.wordpress.com).

Michael is also a musician and songwriter. His debut, solo album, Giants Will Fall, was released in October 2015. His follow-up EP, City Stars, was released by Cocotazo Music in October 2017. Michae has played at the Cape May Singer-Songwriter Festival, Madison Holiday Arts Festival, Hillside Cafe, Montclair State Centennial Celebration, Boro 6 Music Festival, and the Glen Ridge Arts Festival, among others. He has written over 100 original songs and was nominated for a 2013 Jersey Acoustic Music Award (Top Male Songwriter category). Michael created and facilitated 14 Songs in 14 Days, an intensive online songwriting workshop. He was also the creator and host of Indie Music Circus, a showcase for independent musicians.

Michael is a member of SESAC and Actors Equity Association.

Dreamcatcher Presents CONTINUING THE CONVERSATION: AN EVENING OF SHORT PLAYS

Dreamcatcher Repertory Theatre, professional theatre in residence at Oakes Center in Summit, is producing the World Premiere of Continuing the Conversation: An Evening of Short Plays Inspired by Current Events. The plays, by writers Suzanne Bradbeer, Richard Dresser, Steve Harper, Dania Ramos, Lia Romeo and David Lee White, all deal with themes that are in the public consciousness right now. Luna Stage presents the world premiere of a new bilingual holiday celebration for the entire family. MI CASA, TU CASA previews on December 1 at 7:30pm, opens on December 2 and runs through December 18. Performance times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8pm, and Saturdays and Sundays at 3pm. The performance on Sunday December 4 at 3pm will be followed by a talkback with the show's co-creators.
