The winners of the 2019 Sydney Theatre Awards were announced tonight at a star-studded ceremony, with 35 Awards presented, shared between 18 productions which played in Sydney during the calendar year of 2019. Following the tremendous success of her adaptation of Ruth Park's The Harp in the South in 2018, Kate Mulvany will work her magic on Fredrich Schiller's Mary Stuart in 2019, with Caroline Brazier and Helen Thomson playing two of history's most intriguing women - Mary Queen of Scots and Elizabeth I of England, now directed by Lee Lewis. Imara Savage has had to withdraw as director due to scheduling conflicts.
