Artists Rep Awarded $119K For MAGELLANICA From Oregon Community Foundation & Edgerton Foundation

Artists Repertory Theatre is excited to announce two major gifts in support of the World Premiere production of Magellanica, a play by E.M. Lewis, with a limited run January 20 through February 18, 2018. Artists Rep will receive $75,000 from the Oregon Community Foundation Creative Heights Initiative and $44,000 from the Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards made through the Theatre Communications Group.

Currently spooking audiences as a ghostly apparition and other ensemble roles is performer Spencer S Lawson. Being in his senior year at The Hartt School at The University of Hartford, Spencer joins fellow Hartt students in the production as well as veteran ensemble members, many of whom have been performing in the annual production since its conception in 1998. While donning his Hartford Stage 'A Christmas Carol' apparel and flashing a charming smile, Lawson expressed his sadness that the run is coming to an end, but also thankful that he was able to be a part of it.

Milwaukee's Off the Wall Theatre stages a pared down production of a 2009 Tony Award winning play--God of Carnage. Yasmina Reza originally wrote the script in French, which Christopher Hampton then translated for British and American audiences, a popular production until this day. The four person cast streamlines the performance to two sets of parents attempting to reconcile their sons after a physical playground incident knocks 'two incisors' from one of the boy's mouth.
OSF Receives $125,000 Grant

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival (OSF) has received a $125,000 grant from the Oregon Community Foundation (OCF) to support the 2015 U.S. premiere of Secret Love in Peach Blossom Land, a hugely popular play in China and Taiwanby Taiwanese playwright Stan Lai, who also translated the play to English and will direct at OSF.

Elephant Theatre Company Presents LOVE BITES, Opening 2/8
