Steppenwolf Theatre Company, the nation’s premier ensemble theater company, is pleased to open its 49th season with a revival of Michael Frayn’s classic comedy Noises Off, directed by Tony Award-winning ensemble member Anna D. Shapiro (August: Osage County, The Minutes), presented in a co-production with Geffen Playhouse.

Review: NOISES OFF at Steppenwolf Theatre Company
NOISES OFF is lengthy and occasionally redundant because the show literally runs through Act One three times from different perspectives. But it’s also legitimately funny — which is rare and welcome for a Steppenwolf show.

Kane Repertory Theatre, in partnership with the St. Charles Park District, will present a live outdoor production of the Shakespeare classic Romeo and Juliet at the Historic Pavilion on the Fox River. The play, is directed by Northern Illinois University's Dean of the College of Visual and Performing Arts and Geneva resident, Paul Kassel.

The production, directed by Lisa Portes, premieres on Friday, October 3, and runs through Sunday, October 12, 2014. Performances are Wednesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 PM and Sundays at 2 PM. Previews are tonight, October 1 and tomorrow, October 2, at 7:30 PM.
