What did our critic think of THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG at PCPA: Solvang Festival Theater?
by Anna Jensen - Jul 18, 2024
The Play That Goes Wrong is a side-splittingly funny production not to be missed. The laughs begin as you enter the theater and last to the final bows. It’s a play that goes wrong by design, of course, and then goes more wrong in service of our amusement as the Cornley Drama Society puts on the murder mystery The Murder at Haversham Manor.

“In thunder, lighting or in rain” rarely may have been a more appropriate Shakespearean line for the UK’s current weather. Yet after a stormy day, the skies cleared for opening night of the Globe’s latest production of Macbeth.

BWW Review: THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG at Florida Studio Theatre is Comedic Perfection
by Jacob Ruscoe - Mar 6, 2022
By nature, musicals are vastly more popular than plays. They have a natural ability to engage an audience and if there are any lulls in the action, you have a high-flying musical number to bring the show back to life. A play has no safety nets. The actors must be dynamic and make genuine connections in order for thee beauty of a show to be felt.
BWW Review: So Wrong, It's Right in THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG at Clowes Memorial Hall
by The Marriage Matinee - Feb 28, 2020
The premise is simple: a theatrical group who comes together in the hopes of producing their first a?oeprofessionala?? performance, a dramatic murder mystery. The action of it is far from simple as everyone's best intentions turns into everyone's worst nightmares. THE PLAY THAT GOES WRONG is burgeoning with classic physical humor and over-the-top personalities that will consume your attention from start to finish.

by Marianka Swain - May 22, 2019
The audience plays surveillance state in this pioneering collaboration between playwright Ella Hickson and sound designers Ben and Max Ringham. We experience the action through individual sets of headphones, corresponding to a hidden mic on our protagonist Anna - listening in to her every exchange and private moment.
