Kumu Kahua Theatre has announced their entire 50th Season of productions will be available to watch free of charge – with a subtitle option - for one weekend in August 2021. On the morning of August 7th, 2021, a playlist of the 50th season of Kumu Kahua Theatre will be available to watch on YouTube until midnight on August 8th.

Kumu Kahua Theatre has commissioned five new plays to present for its 50th season, each taking place in one decade of the existence of the theatre. Because of precautions taken to reduce the possibility of spreading Covid-19, Kumu Kahua Theatre is exploring options of presenting these shows, including outdoor and online performances.

Acclaimed musician Nathaniel Rateliff's first installment of The Marigold Singles featuring legendary songwriter John Prine debuts today on Stax Records. The Marigold Singles will raise money for The Marigold Project, Rateliff's foundation that supports community and nonprofit organizations working on economic and social justice. The first installment is comprised of Rateliff performing new versions of two beloved Prine songs—“Sam Stone” a duet with Prine and “Summer's End” featuring Courtney Marie Andrews.
Lotus World Music & Arts Festival Celebrates 25 Years

The 25th annual Lotus World Music & Arts Festival will fill the streets of downtown Bloomington, Indiana with sights and sounds from around the globe (September 27-30, 2018). Thirty international artists, free large-scale art installations, and events for all ages will fill 14 downtown Bloomington venues with palpable energy and an eclectic blend of global sound and spectacle. Venues range in style from the historic Buskirk-Chumley Theater, to contemplative church settings, to pavement-quaking outdoor dance tents and even a pop-up 360° video-immersion space. Music genres span continents and cultures, including Colombian marimba, Hawaiian hula, Malian desert groove, high-energy Congolese soukous, Swedish folk rock, contemporary American string music, and more. Hilton Worldwide (NYSE:HLT) announced today the signing of a franchise license agreement to open DoubleTree by Hilton Hilo-Naniloa, which will join DoubleTree by Hilton's 100,000-room portfolio and nearly 40,000-room global pipeline. The oceanfront property, formerly the Hilo Naniloa Hotel and Golf Club, will undergo an $18.5 million large-scale transformation. The 12-story, 3-tower, 388-room property plans to fully convert in December 2015.
