Matthew is originally from Birmingham, he grew up surrounded by puppets and music and plays several instruments.
Having a keen interest in the world of the Arts he joined 'Stage 2 Youth Theatre' when he was twelve and was involved in over 40 productions both on-stage and behind the scenes before successfully gaining a place at Arts Ed, London where he graduated with a BA Hons in Acting in 2006.
Directly after graduating Matt played Steve Binder and Jerry Scheff in Bill Kenwrights This is Elvis (UK Tour). He then portrayed the musical legend Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story, which toured for 4 months around the U.K., led the show for its 18 month run at the Duchess Theatre in Londons West End and was invited to Buddy's hometown of Lubbock, Texas for three months where he received personal accolades from Buddy's two brothers, niece and nephew on his portrayal of their famous relative.
Other credits include: Policeman u/s Lord Arthur in Lord Arthur Saville's Crime (UK Tour), Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story (Mayfield Theatre, Toronto), The Man in the workshop of Grounded (LSMT Studios), Buddy Holly in The Buddy Holly Story (Jersey/Guernsey) and the Actor/Musician Pantomime Sleeping Beauty as Prince (Liverpool Everyman).
Matthew has made appearances on ITV's This Morning, been a guest on BBC Radio 2's Elaine Page on Sunday and performed on Friday Night is Music Night with Ken Bruce.
