Matt Vita Bio (working draft for review and non public submission)
Matt Vita is an actor, stand up comedian, sketch writer/performer, improviser, musician, and award winning freestlyer.
He has written, directed, and performed several one man shows, notably a main stage appearance at the last ever DCM in 2018 “The Self Reflective Insult Comic”, and the multidisciplinary “Yes, It Did Hurt” at The Pit’s 2017 Solocom.
In the comedic world he has been a part of the The Pit’s house team program for both improv and Sketch comedy since 2017, he raps in the award winning Hip Hop Improv group Off Top, and has toured the United States doing both stand up and musical improv comedy.
He has written, directed and starred in several viral sketch videos produced in conjunction with award winning TV producer Mark Dudzinski (together they form the indie production house Gnar Bois), which caught the eye of The Brothers Hovis, another production house that has created notable viral content and brought Matt aboard in 2019 to star in a new series of sketches.
He has made on screen appearances in the short film Dormant (2020), and the sizzle for Alpha Zero (2018).
Adapting to the times in 2020 he has been booking remote work, including the critically acclaimed and star studded dramatic podcast As Seen On (Episode 10), and the quirky cult classic webseries You’re Not Getting Any Younger. Quarantining in a Brooklyn basement he has become a one man sound & video engineer in the past several months, producing comedic musical videos for himself and partner in crime noted musical theatre powerhouse, comic and author Nikki MacCallum.
When he takes a break from his creative endeavors you can find him surfing hurricane waves in the Atlantic ocean and snowboarding the steepest tree runs Vermont has to offer.
