British-born comedy performer. Off-Broadway debut in July as Chico Marx in I'll Say She Is: The Lost Marx Brothers Musical, Connelly Theater. Returned Off-Broadway December 2017 in Jack and The Beanstalk, first large-scale pantomime in New York at the Playhouse Theater, Abrons Arts Center. Founder member of the Secret Variety Society and regular performer at the Slipper Room under the guise of alter-ego Wilfredo.

Entertainers Frank Ferrante (An Evening With Groucho) and Matt Roper (I'll Say She Is: The Lost Marx Brothers Musical) number among the cast of Lakeshore Records release today of the studio album, a companion to the recently released graphic novel Giraffes on Horseback Salad.  Written by pop culture historian Josh Frank (Fool the World: An Oral History of The Pixies), the vividly illustrated book is based on a screenplay written in 1937 by famed Surrealist Salvador Dali as a potential movie for the Marx Brothers.Â

Comedian, poet and author Rick Shapiro is to appear in his own show 'Restless' tonight at the Slipper Room in the Lower East Side. Shapiro, one of the most innovative and surreal comedic talents and a staple of the NYC and LA Underground comedy scene, began his career in the early 1980's performing stand-up at Catch A Rising Star on Broadway.

On Friday, March 22, Theater for the New City will present a special one-hour, acoustic-punk reading of Christopher Marlowe's classic 'Doctor Faustus' script, directed by Elizabeth Ruf-Maldonado. The reading follows the 8:00 PM production of 'Johannes Dokchtor Faust, a Petrifying Puppet Comedye' by Czechoslovak-American Marionette Theatre.
