UNHINGED: Women's Work Festival Announced for August
???????New Perspectives Theatre Company (NPTC) is pleased to announce UNHINGED, our Annual Women's Work Short Play Festival, running Monday, August 7 to Saturday, August 12, 2017. The Festival performs in two programs on an alternating schedule of 4:00pm and 8:00pm, with a combined program on August 12th at NPTC Studio, 458 West 37th Street (at 10th Avenue.)
One Woman Show DIVORCE DIARIES to Play on 4/29
Divorce Diaries is a one woman show that explores the dramedy of divorce. Audience members will enjoy a glass of wine while watching Ivy League Jenny move back home with her dysfunctional loving parents, absent minded 92 year old grandmother, and three legged dog, all the while trying to balance composure in a transition tornado of work, dating, daycare, and court. There is a stand up prologue with LA Actor and Comedian Doug Bass, last seen on HBO's The Comeback.
HOLEY SWISS! & More Set for Manhattan Rep, 9/21-26
'Holey Swiss!' by Philip Paradis is one of five new one-act plays to be showcased at Manhattan Repertory Theatre as part of Manhattan Rep's Fall One Act Play Competition on September 21, 24, 25, 26 at 6:30 pm. Other plays in the Series 5 showcase include 'Disposition' by Ange Arabatzis, 'Personally Yours,' by Lawrence F. Schwabacher, 'An Actor's Life For Me,' by Bryon Krueger and Jordan Cwiazdowski, and 'The Crime Is In Getting Caught,' by Raven Petretti.

This production is also the New York stage debut of Sean Avery, former NHL star, New York Ranger and LGBT advocate. This contemporary dramedy center's on a newly married interacial, upwardly mobile couple who's seemingly idyllic life is shattered by a shocking incident. Along with another couple, the unexpected incident forces them to explore issues of trust, failed expectations, jealousy, race and the true nature of their love. This production is also the New York stage debut of Sean Avery, former NHL star, New York Ranger and LGBT advocate. The cast also features Karen Eilbacher, Joshua Zirger, Vivienne Jurado and Fulton Hodges. Opening night is November 6th at 8pm.
On Her Shoulders to Present Staged Reading of THE YEARS BETWEEN, 11/18
On Her Shoulders will present a staged reading of The Years Between by Daphne Du Maurier, directed by Mary McGinley and edited by Susan Jonas. The Play in Context, a special component contextualizing the script in its historical time and place, will be delivered by Dr. Jonas at the top of the evening. The Gallery Players of Park Slope, Brooklyn are hosting the 16th Annual Black Box New Play Festival. The Festival premieres 14 new plays, varying from 10 minute to full length productions, over the course of four weekends. Each weekend will contain a different program of plays, beginning May 30th and running to June 23rd. Performances will take place at 8:00pm on Thursday, Today and Saturday, as well as 3:00pm on Sunday.
