BIO
MARY MALLEN is a classically trained actor and singer originally from Boston, Massachusetts. At the age of 18, she became one of the youngest Americans to be admitted to the prestigious Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London, England, receiving her BA (Honors) in Acting. While at RADA, Mary appeared in numerous theatrical productions, including A Lie of the Mind (Tim Luscombe), Company (Edward Kemp) and The Man of Mode (William Gaskill).
After graduating, Mary spent a year at The Royal National Theater, performing in Conor McPherson's original production of The Veil. In 2013, Mary moved to New York to perform in the Irish Repertory Theater's productions of Donnybrook! and Juno and the Paycock, in which Mary gave "the standout performance" (Charles Isherwood/NY Times).
Mary's latest work includes writer-director Kenneth Lonergan's film "Manchester by the Sea", which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival to rave reviews and was released in theaters in November 2016. The film tells the story of a ne'er-do-well plumber who is forced to return to his hometown when he becomes legal guardian to his dead brother's son, and stars Casey Affleck, Lucas Hedges, Michelle Williams, and Kyle Chandler.
Mary is an accomplished horseback rider, singer, and dancer. She currently splits her time in-between New York City and Los Angeles.
