Westport Country Playhouse Radio Theater, a free-of-charge broadcast series, in partnership with WSHU Public Radio, will present the new audio play combining humor and suspense, “Special Delivery,” on Saturday, July 10, at 1:06 p.m. (following a news update at top of the hour), with a rebroadcast on Sunday, July 11, at 4:06 p.m.
Opera Parallèle Premieres AMAZING GRACE, Based on Mary Hoffman's Book, Tonight
San Francisco -- As part of its unique annual Hands-on-Opera education and youth performance program, Opera Parallèle (OP) will present the world premiere of Amazing Grace, by OP composer-in-residence Christopher Pratorius. Based on the children's book of the same name by Mary Hoffman and with a libretto by Opera Parallèle's Brian Staufenbiel and Roma Olvera, three free performances will be presented this weekend, November 12 & 14, at the African American Art & Culture Complex in San Francisco.
Opera Parallèle to Premiere AMAZING GRACE, Based on Mary Hoffman's Book, 11/12
San Francisco, CA, August 28, 2015 – As part of its unique annual Hands-on-Opera education and youth performance program, Opera Parallèle (OP) will present the world premiere of Amazing Grace, by OP composer-in-residence Christopher Pratorius. Based on the children's book of the same name by Mary Hoffman and with a libretto by Opera Parallèle's Brian Staufenbiel and Roma Olvera, three free performances will be presented November 12 & 14at the African American Art & Culture Complex in San Francisco. The fully staged and costumed production will be developed during an innovative eight-week residency with fourth and fifth grade students at Saint Martin de Porres Catholic School in Oakland, assisted by the Opera Parallèle creative team and professional singers. The production will be directed by Krista Wigle, and conducted by David Gordon. Performances will be given Thursday, November 12, at 6 pm and Saturday, November 14, at 11 am and 1 pm at the African American Art & Culture Complex, 762 Fulton Street (at Webster) in San Francisco. Mesa Arts Center invites music lovers to enjoy their Thursday lunch hour outdoors at Mesa Arts Center's Wells Fargo Garden for the Out to Lunch Concert Series. These live concerts are free and open to the public and will feature music by a diverse range of talented local musicians. Chairs and lawn seating are available; guests are encouraged to bring stadium cushions or blankets.

feature local artists playing a variety of music including 50's rock-n-roll, acoustic country, jazz and
more. Break away from your computer screen, discover new music, and enjoy the weather and fresh air. Chairs and lawn seating are available, but guests are encouraged to bring stadium cushions and blankets. Cucina Di Vita, Italian deli will provide sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, antipasto plates, fresh lemonade, iced tea, coffee, and more onsite at Mesa Arts Center. Brown bags and picnic baskets are welcome and many of Downtown Mesa's unique restaurants offer convenient and appetizing take-out options. Out to Lunch concerts are FREE and open to the public.
