8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards Are Announced!

ArtsBridge Foundation, the arts education outreach arm of the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre, today announced the nominees for the 8th Annual Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards in a live streaming broadcast on GPB.org. Tony Award-winner and Marietta-native Shuler Hensley joined GPB Sports Anchor Jackie Brittan to announce the nominations. 28 public and private schools from throughout the state were nominated in 17 categories. The awards, which showcase the next generation of Georgia's musical theatre talent, will be presented at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre on April 21. GPB will air the show live on its nine-station statewide television network.
TheatreZone Adds HIGH SOCIETY, WHISTLE DOWN THE WIND Matinees

Bay Street Players Names Meadows Interim Exec Director

Jim Meadows is accustomed to treading the boards with the Bay Street Players. He has appeared onstage in productions ranging from the raucous 'Full Monty' to the classic 'Oklahoma.' This year, he adds Board President to the list of roles he's tackled for the theatre. 'I appreciate the trust the board has placed in me,' says Meadows. 'It's my job, as president, to continue the excellence we've achieved over the past 35 seasons.' Off-stage, Meadows is Senior Consulting Manager, Global Consulting Services at Convergys.
