Tobacco Factory Theatres Announces June Events
Hot on the heels of announcing its re-opening programme, Tobacco Factory Theatres has revealed more additional and events coming up in June. Fri 11 June, renowned music and storytelling group The Devil’s Violin bring their brand new show The Beast in Me.
John O'Hara and Lisa-Marie Parker Unite for One Night Only
Inspired by Shubert's Wintereisse (A Winter's Journey), December Songs portrays a brokenhearted young woman, wandering the snowy paths of Central Park. In this contemporary tale of her journey, she finds the strength to recover and begin her life anew. Written by prolific Broadway Composer Maury Yeston (Nine, Titanic, Phantom), December Songs will be performed by Lisa-Marie Parker (Les Miserables, Cats, Blood Brothers).

Nick Enright occupies a special place in the history of the Australian musical. He was the most experienced professional Australian lyricist of his generation and arguably the most influential. Currency Press has released The Nick Enright Songbook bringing together fifty of the best songs from ten musicals for which Enright wrote the lyrics, and the music of five gifted composers. Broadway PR firm Polk & Co.'s founder and president, Matt Polk, has just announced that Tom D'Ambrosio, Wayne Wolfe, Frances White and Colgan McNeil will be joining the public relations, media strategies and social media firm. Beginning January 6, 2014, the four press agents, formerly of The Hartman Group, will join the existing company of five including press agents Jessica Johnson and Michelle Bergmann.

In 2004, two nobodies in New York decided to enter the inaugural New York Music Theatre Festival (NYMF). The problem was, they didn't have a musical. With a deadline set, three weeks later they entered [title of show], named after the first line in the festivals application form. [title of show] is a musical by two guys named Jeff and Hunter about a musical by two guys named Jeff and Hunter. Its very specificity gives [title of show] broad appeal, as it takes a thoroughly unique and comical look at the pleasures and perils of the artistic process. The story (within a story) follows the two writers, and their two best friends, as they make the journey from nobodies - to somebodies. Around the world.
