Broadway League's Charlotte St. Martin and Roundabout's Julia Levy Included in Mayor De Blasio's Arts, Culture & Entertainment Advisory Council
Today, Mayor Bill de Blasio appointed members to the following Sector Advisory Councils: Labor and Workforce; Large Business; Small Business; and Arts, Culture, and Entertainment. Sector Advisory Councils will inform the Administration's efforts to restart the economy and city life. The councils will serve as critical links to disseminate information about re-opening and provide guidance to shape the City's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Membership of the councils on Faith, Construction and Real Estate, Non-Profits and Social Services, Public Health and Healthcare, Education and Vocational Training, and Surface Transportation will be announced in the coming days.
Theatre Horizon Wins American Theatre Wing National Theatre Company Award
Theatre Horizon, a professional theatre company located in Norristown, Pennsylvania, is one of twelve theatre companies across the nation to be awarded the American Theatre Wing's National Theatre Company Grant. The prestigious $10,000 grant was awarded to Theatre Horizon because of their distinctive mission, audience cultivation, and their ability to nurture a community of artists in ways that strengthen and demonstrate the quality, diversity, and dynamism of American theatre.
David Henry Hwang to Succeed William Ivey Long as Chair of the American Theatre Wing
Tony Award®-winning Playwright David Henry Hwang has been elected the Chair of the American Theatre Wing. Having joined the board of the American Theatre Wing in 2009, Mr. Hwang will succeed current Chair William Ivey Long, who concludes his four-year term this year (the maximum number of consecutive years permitted). Mr. Long will maintain an active role in the Wing as he takes on the responsibilities as Immediate Past Chair.

American Theatre Wing Reveals Recipients of 2015 National Theatre Company Grants
The American Theatre Wing has announced the recipients of its 2015 National Theatre Company Grants. This year's recipients are: 1st Stage (Tysons, VA), Bag&Baggage Productions (Hillsboro, OR), Boulder Ensemble Theatre Company (Boulder, CO), Congo Square Theatre Company (Chicago, IL), Kansas City Actors Theatre (Kansas City, MO), Mildred's Umbrella Theater Company (Houston, TX), The NOLA Project (New Orleans, LA), Portland Playhouse (Portland, OR), San Francisco Playhouse (San Francisco, CA), Serenbe Playhouse (Chattahoochee Hills, GA), Theater Alliance (Washington, D.C.), and Tipping Point Theatre (Northville, MI). The prestigious grants totaling $120,000 will be presented on Monday, September 21st at a private event.
