The Royal Ballet Opens the 2023/24 Season With Carlos Acosta's DON QUIXOTE

The Royal Ballet opens the 2023/24 Season with a revival of Carlos Acosta’s celebrated production of Don Quixote. This production premiered in 2013 and receives its 50th performance on the Royal Opera House stage. This much-loved classic teems with comedy, wit and an abundance of bravura choreography, showcasing the Company at their very best.

As The Music Center wraps up its 14th season of Glorya Kaufman Presents Dance at The Music Center, Angelenos have the opportunity to see some of the world's finest dancers perform a mix of iconic ballets and new pieces in The Music Center's BalletNOW.  Following the popularity of the first BalletNOW in 2015, The Music Center commissioned this highly innovative three-performance program, featuring international ballet sensation and New York City Ballet Principal Tiler Peck as curator.  Peck created a mixed repertory to highlight the versatility and athleticism of today's ballet dancers including pieces that pair classical dancers with their contemporaries in other dance genres. 
Texas Ballet Theater Launches Season with North American Premiere

Texas Ballet Theater opens the 2016-2017 season at the Winspear Opera House September 16-18, and Bass Performance Hall October 7-9, with a mixed repertoire program featuring Cuban choreographer Carlos Acosta's Carmen, a co-production with London's world-renowned The Royal Ballet and Australia's Queensland Ballet, and DGV: Danse a Grande Vitesse, choreographed by Tony Award-Winner Christopher Wheeldon.

American Ballet Theatre sent its audience on a thrill ride of joy, sorrow, and surprises in Manon. With Julie Kent and Roberto Bolle in the lead roles, choreography and direction by Sir Kenneth MacMillian, and music from the opera of the same name by Jules Massenet, the audience was treated to a passion-filled evening underlined by grace, merriment, tragedy, and pure artistry.

Tonight, May 27 at 7:00pm, the Russian American Foundation (RAF) will present 'Philippe Quint & Friends,' a benefit concert hosted by the renowned Russian-American violinist at the New York Times Building's Times Center (242 West 41st Street). The evening will feature performances by special guests such as Joshua Bell, John Corigliano, Josh Ralph, Emily Bergl, Michael Bacon, William Wolfram, the Matt Herskowitz Trio, and Quint's own Argentine tango group, the Quint Quintet, featuring featuring JP Jofre, Octavio Brunetti, Oren Fader, and Pedro Giraudo. This concert will mark the opening of the 12th Annual Russian Heritage Month® and all proceeds from the evening will benefit the Russian American Foundation's Jewish Heritage Education Program (a 501(c)3 organization).

Violinist Philippe Quint Receives Gateways Ambassador of Arts Award

On Wednesday, March 12, violinist Philippe Quint was awarded the Ambassador of Arts Award at the 16th Anniversary Gala Banquet of the Gateways Organization celebrating The Brownstone Experience. The banquet, held in the Delegates Dining Room at the United Nations, was attended by distinguished elected officials, world business leaders, dignitaries and over 400 prominent guests, also honoring fashion designer Valentin Yudashkin and Virginie and Mark Cohen, CEOs of Stonehouse Capital Management. Unfortunately, Quint was not able to be present at the Award ceremony. On the way to the United Nations, Quint's taxi was hit by another vehicle running a red light and Quint had to be hospitalized. Fortunately there were no serious injuries and he is scheduled to appear next week with the Rhode Island Philharmonic.
The Quint Quintet Plays Madison Theatre Today

Today, December 8 at 3:00pm, renowned violinist Philippe Quint's Quint Quintet will perform 'A Night of Tango' at Molloy College's Madison Theatre (1000 Hempstead Ave.) The Quint Quintet was founded by the four-time Grammy Award Nominated violinist in 2009. The ensemble is dedicated to exploring the music of Astor Piazzolla and Argentine Tango. The quintet will include bandoneonist JP Jofre, double bassist Pedro Giraudo, electric guitarist Claudio Ragazzi, and pianist Octavio Brunetti. Russian tango dancers Michael Nadtochi and Zoya Altmark will also appear.

'NEW YORK POPS' Awarded Grant For Strouse Tribute On 4/3/09

The New York Pops has been awarded a $10,000 grant from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA). The grant, awarded in the category 'Access to Artistic Excellence,' will support Once Upon a Time and Tomorrow: The Best of Charles Strouse, a concert celebrating the 80th birthday of the Tony Award-winning Broadway composer. The performance will provide the opportunity to explore the works of this time-honored American composer whose talent has advanced the art of musical theater and touched the hearts of music-lovers for generations. The New York Pops holds the unique distinction of being the only symphonic pops orchestra in the country to receive an award from the NEA in the category of 'Access to Artistic Excellence.'
