Ralph Howard, Veteran Radio Newscaster And Husband Of Julie Halston, Dies At 77
Ralph Howard, the celebrated news anchor whose voice and measured tones were fixtures on New York City radio for over 30 years on stations 1010 WINS, WCBS, WMCA and with Howard Stern on SIRIUS XM, died on Tuesday, August 7 in Manhattan, according to his wife, the Broadway actress Julie Halston. Mr. Howard was 77 years old. The cause of death was lung disease. In 2008, he was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis, but received a life saving lung transplant that allowed him to resume his work and daily life.
California School of the Arts Celebrates Opening in San Gabriel Valley
Joy spread across a crowd of students, parents and community leaders Friday, Sept. 1, when California School of the Arts - San Gabriel Valley (CSArts-SGV) celebrated its opening with an arts-filled Ribbon Cutting and Open House. The afternoon showcased the high-caliber arts instruction of conservatory directors and the blossoming talents of CSArts-SGV student artists with three solo performances and eight conservatory classes open for observation.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra (BSO) celebrates its 10thanniversary as a founding partner and resident orchestra at the Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, Md. with a concert and pre-concert gala event tonight, February 5, 2015, 10 years to the day after the venue's opening concert that featured legendary cellist Yo-Yo Ma, then-Music Director Yuri Temirkanov and the BSO.

The evening featured an awards ceremony, exhibition, buffet dinner, cocktails and a silent auction celebrated the legacy of the famed artist LeRoy Neiman and his vision to provide arts education to the young children of Harlem. It was an event too good to be true: Chocolate and Broadway coming together as one! The 14th Annual Chocolate Show, which opened Wednesday November 8th and ran through Sunday November 13th, featured a runway show with Broadway themed costumes made out of chocolate! Chocolatiers and pastry chefs, from some of New York's best restaurants, teamed up with award winning costume designers to create the delicious dresses that walked the runway Wednesday night. The dresses were then featured throughout the showroom for the rest of the chocolate show. Some of the participating costume designers were William Ivey Long, Anita Yavic (Chinglish), and Gregg Barnes.
