New York Public Library's FOCUS CENTER STAGE Exhibit Will Celebrate 50 Years of the Theatre on Film and Tape Archive

The Theatre on Film and Tape Archive (TOFT) has long been recognized as the first and foremost collection of videorecorded live theatre performances in the world, and 2020 marked its 50th anniversary. The Library for the Performing Arts celebrates this landmark collection with an exhibition opening on July 14, 2022.

Old Time Radio Theatre at Beowulf Alley Theatre Announces Performances for October

Beowulf Alley Theatre's Old Time Radio Theatre Company will present classic productions and reproductions from the golden days of radio at the theatre, 11 South 6th Avenue (Downtown between Broadway and Congress). Performances in October will be Tuesdays at 7 p.m. on October 4, and October 18, 2011. Tickets purchased online at www.beowulfalley.org at least the day before a performance are $8.00. Strathairn and Giamatti Open Theatre Works' Season With 'Rivalry'

Jump-starting L.A. Theatre Works' 2008-09 season, David Strathairn and Paul Giamatti star as Abraham Lincoln and Stephen Douglas, rivals for the U.S. Senate seat in Illinois. Eric Simonson, 2006 Academy Award winner for his documentary The Golden Age of Norman Corwin, directs a rare and timely revival of Corwin's The Rivalry about the famous Lincoln-Douglas debates.
TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards Announced

Legendary designers John Conklin and Robert Fletcher are among the recipients of the 2008 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards. For his achievements as both a costume and set designer, John Conklin will receive the TDF/Irene Sharaff Awards' special Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Lifetime Achievement in Theatrical Design. Acclaimed costume designer Robert Fletcher, who also produced, performed and designed sets, will receive the 2008 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award at a ceremony on Friday, March 28, at the Hudson Theatre in New York City.
