Traditionally, he reveals the title of the forthcoming show on the last night of the panto - and this year was no exception. After the curtain came down on the final performance of this year's highly successful production of Jack & the Beanstalk, he announced to the packed auditorium that the title of the 2018-19 pantomime as The Grand Old Dame of York.

Today, 20 May 2012, the National Theatre's award-winning production of One Man, Two Guvnors releases over 100, 000 new tickets for sale in the West End, taking bookings at the Theatre Royal Haymarket to 12 January 2013. Earlier this week Richard Bean's award-wining adaptation, based on Carlo Goldoni's The Servant of Two Masters, triumphed on Broadway in Nicholas Hytner's five star production.
