American Conservatory Theater to Host Women's Leadership Conference August 22, 2016
American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Artistic Director Carey Perloff announced today that the Women's Leadership Conferencewill be held on Monday, August 22 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater. The Conference emerged from a partnership with Wellesley Centers for Women (WCW), one of the largest gender-focused research-and-action organizations in the world, and will speak to the practices of the workplace in relation to women employees and leadership.

And Toto too Theatre Company is proud to be a part of Swan Day, an International Celebration of the Woman Artist. The evening starts with a mixer, followed by 10 minute readings of work by local playwrights Nina Alice Miller, Leslie C. Lewis, Melissa Lucero McCarl, Rebecca Gorman O'Neill, and Susan Hickey, the work of visual artists Tracy Frickey and Deb Hultgren and the work of the women from MissionWear.org. Join Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and author Ron Suskind, the last major journalist to interview Benazir Bhutto, for a special post-performance discussion tonight, Monday, April 8th at 7:30 P.M. with Anna Khaja, writer and performer of the acclaimed new play, Lafayette Street). Ms. Khaja relied on Mr. Suskind's 2008 bestseller, 'The Way of the World,' for insights in Bhutto's final days.
Culture Project Adds Three Weeks to SHAHEED: THE DREAM AND DEATH OF BENAZIR BHUTTO's Run
By popular demand, Culture Project's Women Center Stage has announced a three-week extension of the Off-Broadway premiere of the acclaimed new play, Shaheed: The Dream and Death of Benazir Bhutto, written and performed by Anna Khaja and directed by Heather de Michele. Performances began March 8, 2013, with opening night soon after on March 14, 2013. The limited engagement was originally set to end April 1, 2013 but will now continue through Sunday afternoon, April 21, 2013 at Culture Project at 45 Bleecker Street (at Lafayette Street).

To create discourse about sex and age, Brava Theater presents The Oldest Profession, written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Paula Vogel (How I Learned to Drive, Baltimore Waltz). Directed by Brava Company Member Evren Odcikin and musical arrangements by Angela Dwyer, this production recognizes the awareness of women playwrights and the men that support them. Vogel's commentary on aging and sex will come to life during Women's History Month and in correlation with Support Women Arts Now (SWAN) DAY on March 26th.
