Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden Hosts Neighborhood History Camp, Starts 7/12

The Mount Vernon Hotel Museum & Garden invites children to travel back in time with Neighborhood History Camp, a children's summer day camp that explores the Museum and the history of New York City, for two weeks in July. Taking place Mondays-Fridays July 12th-16th (8:30 AM-3:00 PM) for children age 9-12 and July 19th-23rd (9:00 AM-12:00 PM) for children age 6-8 from, Neighborhood History Camp uses the Museum's landmark East Side Manhattan building as a focal point for hands-on, fun-filled, history-centered activities that include craft projects (making ice cream and journaling with quills and ink), games, architectural tours and field trips. Campers who are interested in exploring life in 19th-century New York City are welcome to an Open House at the Museum on Sunday, April 11th, from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The camp is led by experienced professional counselors and takes place in the Museum's historic building, its beautiful surrounding gardens and adjacent air-conditioned auditorium.
