The Reston Community Players return to the stage for their first in-person performances in almost two years with the comedic ensemble play, A Delightful Quarantine. The show revolves around the residents of a small community (and a few unlucky visitors) who find themselves suddenly and unexpectedly quarantined in place for three days as the result of an extraterrestrial visit.

BWW Review: Delightful Comedy IT HAD TO BE YOU at Torrance Theatre Company
The first play in the series was IT HAD TO BE YOU, written by Renee Taylor and Joseph Bologna, on Sunday, September 6 at 6pm. This delightful comedy, directed by Gary Kresca, shares a fantasy story created by Theda Blau (Jessica Plotin), a failed actress, health food nut, and would-be playwright who wants to find love and success in New York. After an audition, the totally unprepared Theda meets Vito Pignoli (Steve Oreste), a hugely successful TV commercial director who had been sitting quietly in the booth listening to her jabber uncontrollably, her flighty nature both a turn-on and turn-off.

The unique musical LMNOP, in which citizens lose their freedoms one letter at a time, is available for license through Samuel French, a Concord Theatricals company, giving theaters and educational institutions the chance to bring this passionate and timely story to audiences across the country.

Teatro Paraguas will be hosting a workshop for playwrights today, September 22 from 10:00 through 1:30, facilitated by professional playwright Mark Dunn. Lunch will be included in the workshop fee of $15. The workshop will explore the mechanics of telling stories through the medium of theater. It will focus on both the basic tools of play construction, as well as offer advanced tips and tricks of the trade to help the playwright write theater pieces that connect with and engage audiences.
