Pianist Mark Burnell trained vocalists for 10 years at Carnegie Mellon University, where he received his MFA. He also taught at Northwestern, Roosevelt, Chicago State, the International Cabaret Conference at Yale, and ArtsBridge. Mark has worked with Dave Frishberg, Howie Mandel, Connie Francis, Louie Bellson, Richie Cole, Sally Mayes, Laurel Masse, Ward Swingle, Rob Marshall, Blair Underwood, Laura San Giacomo, and Seth Myers. He has performed in New York, Jamaica, Paris, Bern, Lausanne, Zurich, Geneva, Freiburg and Amsterdam. National anthem appearance include Soldier Field, United Center, Wrigley Field, Arlington Racetrack, Comiskey Park, and US Cellular Field. A founding member of Chicago Cabaret Professionals, Mark teaches privately, specializing in jazz, pop, Broadway, vocal technique, audition prep, recording, arranging, cabaret shows, and music direction.
