Marie Cecile Anderson is best known for being one half of the badass country/comedy duo Reformed Whores. Described as “Southern-Fried feminism with a side of crass and a tall glass of sass,” Marie and her comedy partner Katy Frame, have toured the country opening for the likes of musical parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic, bassist extraordinaire Les Claypool, guitar hero Dweezil Zappa and rockabilly vets Reverend Horton Heat.
Their sophomore record "Don't Beat Around the Bush" debuted in the top 20 iTunes comedy albums of 2016 and GRAND OLE CUNTRY, which premiered in August 2017 at the Edinburgh Fringe was hailed by the press as "A magnificently bawdy celebration of female sexuality” and "Genuinely endearing and unflinchingly upbeat." When Marie ain't whorin' it up, she enjoys chilling out in Brooklyn. She studied theatre in NC & CA, and improv at UCB in NYC. Marie has acted Off-Broadway, was featured in HBO's Flight of the Conchords, national commercials, Above Average videos produced by Lorne Michaels' Broadway Video, and was once a model on Dr. Oz.
In 2009, Marie starred in the award-winning independent feature film Sneakers & Soul. The film was an official selection at over a dozen film festivals across the country. Marie can also be seen in the comedy web series PLANT where she is a series regular & does music for the show as well. Season 2 "The Second Coming" is now available to stream on Amazon Video.
