The 42nd Annual Dora Mavor Moore Awards were handed out in front of an enthusiastic audience tonight at The Elgin and Winter Garden Theatre Centre in the Elgin Theatre. Hosted by award-winning actor and director, Sabryn Rock, the gala ceremony celebrated excellence in Toronto theatre, dance and opera. The ceremony, which unfolded with characteristic razzle-dazzle, caps one of the most tumultuous periods in the history of Toronto performing arts.

With its most diverse lineup to date, Toronto's premiere winter arts celebration, Next Stage Theatre Festival, returns January 2020 for its 13th edition. The 2020 Next Stage Theatre Festival runs January 8 a?" 19, 2020 at Factory Theatre and, new this year, some shows will be presented a?oein development.a?? This means different things to different companies: some will seek feedback from the audience via talkbacks and post-show conversations, while some will experiment with form.
