Green Space Presents TAKE ROOT and FERTILE GROUND
Green Space is pleased to announce a diverse roster of artists for its signature programs this June. Take Root will present an evening of work by Angharad Davies and Amber Sloan, curated by Aviva Geismar on June 14th and 15th, and Fertile Ground showcases works-in-progress by multiple dance artists on June 16th.
Mark Murphy, The Founding Executive Directorof REDCAT Will Leave The Position At The End Of The Current Season
Mark Murphy has announced his decision to leave REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney CalArts Theater), the California Institute of the Arts' contemporary performing arts and exhibition space located in The Walt Disney Concert Hall, at the end of the 2018/2019 season, in order to focus his attention on initiating new creative programs and productions in a variety of US and international cities. Murphy has led REDCAT for more than seventeen years, starting as its founding Executive Director in 2001, before overseeing the grand opening of the facility in 2003. Edgar Miramontes, Associate Director at REDCAT, will assume additional duties of interim leadership until a permanent appointment is made.

Performance Space 122's annual performance festival, Coil, returns for its twelfth edition with 13 individual events. The festival explores the constant vitality of live performance in New York City through contemporary artists from diverse genres, cultures and perspectives. Featuring work created locally, across the U.S., and around the world, Coil is known for its groundbreaking contemporary performance across interdisciplinary art, working with new technologies and forms. Through installations, live and virtual practices, PS122 is committed to redefining how, where, and when performance is experienced.

REDCAT's THE PAST IS A GROTESQUE ANIMAL Closes
The internationally acclaimed work from Argentine writer-director Mariano Pensotti, The Past is a Grotesque Animal (El pasado es un animal grotesco), will culminate its multi-city North American tour with performances in Los Angeles at the Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater though Sunday, February 26, 2012. Performed in Spanish with English subtitles.
