NY Queer Tango Festival Returns
The fourth edition of New York Queer Tango Weekend, NYQTW, will offer an opportunity to the international Queer Tango community to convene in New York City, September 27-30, to hone their craft at workshops and master classes taught by the leading tango teachers, explore the endless variety of tango at milongas - tango social parties - and mix and mingle with the New York tango community.

GlamourTango Comes to Aaron Davis Hall
The passion and elegance of tango will take center stage at Aaron Davis Hall as City College Center for the Arts (CCCA) presents Polly Ferman's GlamourTango - A Celebration of Women in Tango on Thursday, March 29. Created and produced by Ferman, GlamourTango features an all-female cast of dancers, musicians and singers who come together to entertain audiences and bring to light the overlooked role of women in helping to shape this beloved musical and dance genre. The group will give two special Women's History Month performances at noon and 7 p.m.

The show includes fascinating and rarely seen black and white films from Argentina, recorded in the early forties, featuring female singers and tango dancers. Polly Ferman has created and produced this stylish production of tango music and dance from South America's Rio de la Plata region, performed by an ensemble of musicians, vocalists and dancers who specialize in the art of Tango.
