Maria Teresa lonetti began performing at just 3 years old at Dale Dance studio in East Haven Connecticut. Maria's very first role was in kindergarten in The Grinch who Stole Christmas and has been preforming ever since. She was a competitive dancer and thespian. Which gives her over 32 years of experience in the performing arts. After she graduated high school she went on to study theater at the American Musical Dramatic Academy and The New School. She also studio abroad at Santa Reperata in Florence, Italy. Maria studied dance under Lindsey Chambers (OBC Cats), Ramon Galdino (Broadway Cast Cats) , and Harry Wooliver (OBC My Fair Lady.
Maria is also trained in stage combat, improv, Shakespeare, on camera acting, character development and advanced acting technique. She received professional training from John Bellomo, Mike Chin for stage combat, Michael Pearlstein for improv, David Martin, Andrea Masters, Dan Daily, Randolph Pearson, Lisa Jacobson for acting and Cate Smit for film acting.
She holds a degree in Theater and a Bachelors of Science in Liberal Arts with a focus in performing arts therapy.
Her first professional acting job was at the Florida Studio Theatre in Sarasota Florida and her first professional movie was School of Rock. Her favorite she’s worked on ever, Kidz Konnections, Once on This Island.
Maria has always loved working with her children and matching theater with the kids is just amazing! She has worked a Drama teacher at the Worthington Hooker School in New Haven and the Ezra Academy And is also the head Xcel competitive gymnastics coach at Nutmeg Twisters in Guilford. Maria has also coached members of the Connecticut Regional Gymnastics Team.
Some of her professional credits include Tales of Forth Grade Nothing, Agnes of God, and Italian American Reconciliation. A few Regional and Community Theater credits include Les Miserables, Children of Eden, The Crucible, and A Mid Summer Nights Dream.
