BIO

Maria Corsaro returned to her first love, singing, several years ago which led to a duo show at The Laurie Beechman Theater, her solo debut show at Don’t Tell Mama and various other performances at many of NYC and CT cabaret rooms. She recently completed a run of her show You Taught My Heart To Sing at Pangea with the Gregory Toroian Trio and directed by Sue Matsuki. The show featured beloved jazz tunes that were originally instrumental compositions where lyrics were added added and in some cases years later. Her focus has been returning to her love of jazz and the music of legendary jazz composers and lyricists. This is the music of her heart. She wants her audience to experience the emotional texture of this great American art form. Maria and her trio (Gregory Toroian on piano/musical director and arranger, Skip Ward on bass and David Silliman on drums, directed by David Friedman will be performing at Chelsea Table and Stage on March 14th 2023. She feels passionately that music feeds the soul and is the creative result of musical collaboration.
