Margaret Grenier Awarded Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts

The Canada Council for the Arts announced today that Margaret Grenier, choreographer, dance artist, Executive and Artistic Director of Dancers of Damelahamid, and Producer and Director of the annual Coastal Dance Festival, is the winner of the 2020 Walter Carsen Prize for Excellence in the Performing Arts.
Holly Hynes and Zack Brown Among 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Awardees

Legendary ballet costume designer HOLLY HYNES and costume and scenic designer ZACK BROWN are among the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Award recipients which were just announced by TDF, the not-for-profit service organization for the performing arts. Ms. Hynes was selected to receive the 2018 TDF/Irene Sharaff Lifetime Achievement Award for costume design and Mr. Brown will receive the Robert L. B. Tobin Award for Sustained Excellence in Theatrical Design. The awards are presented through TDF's Costume Collection. The awards will be presented at a ceremony on Friday, April 20, at 6:30pm, at the Edison Ballroom (240 West 47th Street).

The WorkShop Theater Company (Scott C. Sickles, Artistic Director), as part of its 2011-2012 Main Stage season, proudly presents Beneath the Hush, a Whisper, a work of historical fiction by new playwright, Abigail Somma, directed by Tom Herman. Beneath the Hush, a Whisper, set at the United Nations in the 1950's tells the story of a British diplomat, assigned to work with Secretary-General Dag Hammarskjold on a project that will change the course of history. As his work begins, the conflicted UN appointee faces a personal crisis that tests his idealism and integrity.
