Born in Memphis, TN, but grew up in Houston, TX. First professional job at the Sahara Hotel, Las Vegas at age 15. Trained with Patsy Swazee and worked with Tommy Tune in Houston. Did Summer stock in Dallas State Fair Musicals. Went to New York in 1960, got national tour of Destry Rides Again. After a year and a half on the road, back to New York where I got the national tour of Bye Bye Birdie as understudy to the Chita Rivera role. After another year and a half on the road, back in New York where I marred and had two children. The next 8 years were in shows on Broadway: How To Succeed, What Makes Sammy Run?, Sophie and Gantry. In between shows, did other summer stock jobs, industrials, Ford and Milliken. Choreographers worked with: Bob Fosse, Michael Kidd, Donald Saddler, Onna White, Michael Bennett, Matt Mattox.
New York TV: Sullivan Show with Peter Genaro. The Sammy Davis Jr. TV series. Moved to LA in 1970. Did Tommy the Rock Opera on stage. TV: Carol Burnett Show, Laugh In, Elaine Joyce & Bobby Van Specials. Films: Funny Lady, Mame. In 1981 started writing soap opers with General Hospital. For the next 20 years, wrote for General Hospital, Days of Our Lives, Santa Barbara, Passions. Won an Emmy for Santa Barbara. Nominated for Writer's Guild Awards several times, won three times. I retired in Bend, Oregon where we opened the 2nd Street Theater, and there we produced 18 years of musicals and plays. Currently living in Florida and having a good life!
