The Ford Theatres 2018 Season and the IGNITE @ the FORD! series will commence on Friday, June 1 with Chano Dominguez's Flamenco Sketches, a reimagining of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue, the best-selling jazz album in the world, featuring GRAMMY nominee Chano on piano, Latin GRAMMY-nominated singer Blas Cordoba, and award-winning flamenco dancer Daniel Navarro.
Andres Peña and Manuel Malena Join Caminos Flamencos for 1/29 Show
Caminos Flamencos, under the direction of Emmy Award-winning dancer and choreographer Yaelisa and guitarist Jason McGuire 'El Rubio,' has announced details for a three-city tour with renowned guest artists from Spain, Andres Peña and Manuel Malena. Starting at the Irvine Barclay Theater in Irvine, California on January 21, followed by concerts at the New Vic Theater in Santa Barbara on January 22, and the Brava Theater in San Francisco on January 29, the tour celebrates the end of Yaelisa's decade-plus tenure at the helm of the New World Flamenco Festival in Irvine. Four free flamenco dance lessons, plus tapas and Spanish wine, will be offered as part of Flamenco Festival 2012 at New York City Center, March 1 - 4. The lessons are open to all ticket holders and all skill levels, and will begin 90 minutes before curtain time. Tapas and Spanish wine will be available for purchase.
