Inis Nua Theatre Company will team up with Drexel University's Mandell Professionals in Residence Project (MPiRP) to present a revival of Dublin by Lamplight by Michael West. Inis Nua's breakout hit from 2011 will be remounted with some familiar names, a grand two-level stage, and the talents of co-op students working side-by-side with the professional actors. Using commedia dell'arte make-up stylings and Storytellers theatre, the cast of six will portray 40 different characters in the fast-paced tale about the launch of the Irish National Theatre. Dublin by Lamplight runs November 9 to 20th at Drexel's Mandell Theater (3201 Chestnut Street).

This dark comedy takes us into the world of Homer's The Odyssey by the back door, or maybe it's a trap door, as we fall into a part of the story that's never been told before. Penelope awaits the return of her husband, Odysseus, from the Trojan war. Four suitors are locked in a do-or-die competition to win her love at a barbecue unlike any you have ever seen. Will the great warrior return and slay his rivals, or will one of these self-proclaimed poets convince her to turn to a new love?

Guerra: a clown play is a satirical physical comedy created by Mexico City-based company La Piara in collaboration with writers/directors Seth Bockley (February House at The Public Theatre) and Devon de Mayo (The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler with Dog & Pony Theatre Company). Performed in three languages, Guerracombines slapstick, clown, dance, bouffant and farce to tell the story of a military outpost desperate for recruits, and the cannon fodder that a hapless General sends to war. This contemporary story of war's inhumanity is given a darkly humorous edge through the medium of clown.
