Madison Fiedler is a playwright from North Carolina. Plays include SPAY (extended-run 2022 world premiere at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 2022 Jeff Award nominee for Best New Work, 2023 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize nominee, 2023 Steinberg/ATCA New Play Award Finalist, 2020 Kilroys List, 2021 Princess Grace Playwriting Fellowship runner-up, 2019 National Showcase of New Plays, Florida Rep’s 2020 PlayLab Festival, 2021 Theatre Lab at FAU, 2019 BoHo Theatre reading), SCREECH OWL (2023 Studio Theatre workshop; 2021 finalist: Playwrights Realm Writing Fellowship, Leah Ryan Fund for Emerging Women Writers, Theater J’s Patty Abramson Prize; semi-finalist: Jewish Plays Project’s Jewish Playwriting Contest, Fault Line Theatre’s Irons in the Fire), IF GOD CAME A CALLIN (Barter Theatre’s Appalachian Festival of Plays & Playwrights), THE INCUBATORS (Westport Country Playhouse’s New Works Initiative), and I TALK TO THE FLOWERS (Skidmore College, University of Kentucky). With two major revivals on stage helmed by Artistic Collective members—August Wilson's Gem of the Ocean directed by Resident Director Chuck Smith (through February 27) and Manilow Resident Director Mary Zimmerman's The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci (February 11 – March 20)—the Goodman announces several artistic updates as its 2021/2022 “Homecoming” Season continues.

SPAY runs March 12 - April 17, 2022 at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago. The press opening is Wednesday, March 23 at 7:00pm

The Theater J Patty Abramson Jewish Play Prize awards $3,000 and a stage reading to a promising emerging woman playwright in honor of a new play that celebrates, explores, and/or struggles with the complexities and nuances of the Jewish experience.

The final event of the festival is the Playwrights' Panel discussion held live on Zoom Dec. 11 at 3:30 PM.

BoHo's 2020 season will feature the musical FALSETTOS by William Finn and James Lapine, followed by Jeffrey Hatcher's new adaptation of Frederick Knott's riveting thriller WAIT UNTIL DARK. BoHo will also continue its partnership with Northwestern University's Next Step Program by staging a reading of a new play by student Nate Hollander.

All productions will be performed at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.

National New Play Network, the country's alliance of nonprofit theaters that collaborate in innovative ways to develop, produce, and extend the life of new plays, is delighted to announce the slate of plays that will be shared during our 18th annual National Showcase of New Plays. NNPN and Core Member Theater Actor's Express with the assistance of members Horizon Theatre Company and Synchronicity Theater will host the National Showcase of New Plays from December 6-8, 2019, presenting readings of six production-ready new plays to more than 150 NNPN Core and Associate Members, Affiliated Artists, and invited guests.
