Madeline O’Hara is a freelance director, producer, coach, and teacher based in NYC. A graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design, she moved to NYC in 2011 where she met and began Associate Directing for Tony nominated Gabriel Barre. Since then, Maddie has Associate Directed for many acclaimed directors, and recently teamed up with Lori Petty (Orange Is the New Black, A League Of Their Own) to open the world premiere of TRIAL by playwright Ashley Griffin. Maddie has also served as a resident associate director for the sketch comedy sensation Blogologues and the recurring Off-Broadway Rock Cabaret Rock-N-Roll Debauchery. Most recently, she directed the developmental reading of Meet Cute, a new play by Christine Boylan, produced by Bespoke Plays.
Pre COVID, Maddie was the Producer of The West End Lounges long running cabaret series, Bound For Broadway. There, she also Produced and Directed her own monthly shows, 11 O’Clock Numbers, Diamonds In The Rough, and Maddie O’Hara Presents: Stand Up at the West End.
Maddie also has extensive experience teaching and performing improv. An alumni of The Second City Training Center, she began her teaching career at Gotham City Improv in Manhattan as a faculty member and house team performer. Maddie currently teaches regular freelance improv classes, as well as beginners courses at Broadway Dance Center. Maddie has taught everything from private classes to 8-week workshops, and has taught at such places as Beyond the Stage Academy and The Girl Scout Leadership Institute. She offers private acting coaching as well as group improv coaching.
