Chemotherapy Foundation to Honor Pierce Brosnan with Humanitarian Award
The Chemotherapy Foundation, a not-for-profit organization providing critical start-up seed money grants for innovative cancer research projects, is celebrating 50 years of research and discovery by hosting its 2018 Innovation Gala on Wednesday, November 7th at The Russian Tea Room in New York City. Media personality Valerie Smaldone will emcee the event which will honor Pierce Brosnan (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, The Son), actor, producer, and philanthropist, with the Humanitarian Award; renowned Oncologist Malcolm Pike will receive the Ezra Greenspan Award, and Journalist Marvin Scott will accept the Chemotherapy Foundation Appreciation Award. Dr. Eric Manheimer, author of Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital and the inspiration behind NBC's hit series New Amsterdam, will participate in a Q&A session. The program will include a look back at some of the foundation's most notable achievements and discovery in a special video tribute as well as a cocktail reception and sit-down dinner.
