Registration For FREE Tickets APIDA ARTS FESTIVAL Begins April 1
APIDA Arts Festival, Celebrating the Creativity of Asian, Pacific Island and Desi/South Asian Americans in Chicago, in association with the City of Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Goodman Theatre, Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) and Lookingglass Theatre, announces registration for free tickets to the inaugural Festival, May 5 - 7, and paid tickets to the Sunday, May 7 After Party will be available Saturday, April 1 at 12 p.m. at APIDAArts.org. As some events are limited in size, registration is strongly encouraged for these free events. The mission of the APIDA Arts Festival is to amplify and unify Asian, Pacific Island and Desi/South Asian American artists in Chicago by showcasing their work at premier cultural institutions, providing greater representation, equity and opportunity. The APIDA Arts Festival will also be available via streaming on APIDA Arts YouTube channel.

The Artistic Home Announces CUT TO THE CHASE One-Act Play Festival
The Artistic Home will present the 20th anniversary of its Cut To The Chase one-act play festival, featuring six handpicked 10-minute plays, showcasing Artistic Home Studio actors, playing five intimate performances January 26 – 29, 2022 at The Den Theatre (2A), 1331 N. Haven Theatre presents its fourth DIRECTORS HAVEN, the company's ever-growing initiative annually showcasing the talents of three rising directors. This season, Charlotte Drover directs Madame Rachilde's surreal horror ballet THE CRYSTAL SPIDER, with translation by Daniel Gerould; Airos Sung-En Medill helms Josefina Lopez' heartfelt and healing SIMPLY MARIA, OR THE AMERICAN DREAM; and Dani Wieder directs an imaginative take on William Inge's drama PEOPLE IN THE WIND. The three productions, which will have the support of a full production team, will run back-to-back in one program. DIRECTOR'S HAVEN 2018 will play October 15 - 31, 2018 at Haven Theatre's resident home, The Den Theatre (2A), 1331 N. Milwaukee Ave. in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Citadel Theatre To Perform Moliere's SCAPIN Outdoors
Citadel Theatre will continue its practice of producing classic theatre in bucolic Lake County outdoor settings with this summer's production of SCAPIN, the 17th Century farce by Moliere. SCAPIN will be directed by Frank Farrell, who helmed the company's previous summer productions of Shakespeare's ROMEO AND JULIET, AS YOU LIKE IT, and A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM; and SPOON RIVER ANTHOLOGY, Farrell's musical dramatic adaptation of Edgar Lee Masters' poetry. Farrell, well-known to Citadel audiences for his portrayals of Dickens' Scrooge in both 2011 and in 2017, has written a new adaptation of the comedy for this production.
