Birth Place: Belleville, New Jersey
Lynda DeFuria is a Jersey born, Las Vegas raised, New York based singer, award-winning songwriter, actress, director, theatre-maker, teaching artist, and to-do list aficionado.
Since graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, DeFuria has built a versatile career on the stage, both in music and theatre. She was the Female Swing in the closing national touring cast and Pat in the international productions of the Tony award-winning musical “Kinky Boots”, she has also performed at Lincoln Center, The Sydney Opera House, on national TV's “Showtime at the Apollo,” New York’s The Bitter End and Rockwood Music Hall, and Off-Broadway as Pat in the closing cast of "Kinky Boots" at Stage 42.
As a songwriter, DeFuria writes what she knows — the messiness of life, healing, heartbreak, and self-worth shared through confessional and straightforward lyrics, soundtracked by intimately powerful vocals. Her previous releases including the BMI’s John Lennon Songwriting Competition winning “Where You Stand,” “Ticking Clocks” album, 2020’s ethereal inspirational anthem “The Finish Line,” and the rainbow feels dance bop “Something To Do With Love” as heard on Netflix’s “TwentySomething’s: Austin.”
DeFuria’s newest EP “Keeping Time” is an exploration of beautiful, messy healing — toxic and cyclical relationship with partners and self, and self-worth.
