The Acting Company's 2018 Fall Gala Honors Bill Rauch, Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel And Ambassador Carl Spielvogel
The Acting Company (Ian Belknap, Artistic Director; Elisa Spencer-Kaplan, Executive Director) will honor director and artistic leader Bill Rauch and the married civic leaders Barbaralee Diamonstein-Spielvogel and Ambassador Carl Spielvogel- individuals whose exemplary work aligns with the artistic and educational ideals of the storied repertory company that produces nationally recognized theater productions and arts education programs-at the Company's 2018 Fall Gala, on November 12. Held at the historic Metropolitan Club (One East 60th Street), the event will bring together awards, live entertainment, silent and live auctions, dinner, and cocktails in celebration of theater and its contribution to American society.
The Players Taps Michael Barra as New President
The Players, the city's historic private social club for artists and patrons of the dramatic arts, today announced that theatre producer and media executive Michael Barra has been elected as its new president, building on the momentum of recent efforts that have reinvigorated the famed club.
MADboots dance co. Set for DMAC this Week, 6/19-20
Duo Multicultural Arts Center (DMAC) is pleased to present MADboots dance co. as part of PRIDE @ DMAC (June 16-22). After an eight-week residency at DMAC this Spring, MADboots Co-artistic Directors Jonathan Campbell and Austin Diaz return to the historic Duo Theater to perform works that wowed the dance community this past May. MADboots will perform on Wednesday, June 19 & Thursday, June 20, 2013, 8PM. Admission is $10.

Among the recipients is the team behind the exterior restoration of Moynihan Station. The ceremony will take place at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine, also one of the exceptional award winners. Named after distinguished philanthropist Lucy G. Moses, the coveted awards laud outstanding preservation efforts by individuals and projects.

The Tony Award-winning Manhattan Theatre Club (Peter J. Solomon, Chairman of the Board; Lynne Meadow, Artistic Director; Barry Grove, Executive Producer) dedicated its Broadway theatre the 'Samuel J. Friedman Theatre' on Thursday, September 4. The ceremony began at the theatre (261 West 47th Street at 8th Avenue) . MTC previously announced that it was renaming its Broadway home, until now known as the Biltmore Theatre, the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre in recognition of the pioneering Broadway publicist.
