BIO

Actress and filmmaker Lucia Grillo has a BFA in Acting from NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts and studied at the Lee Strasberg Institute/NY from the age of 15. She works in theatre, television, and cinema, most notably in Spike Lee’s Summer of Sam, Tony Gilroy’s Duplicity.

Lucia’s award-winning debut short film as a writer-director A pena do pana (The Cost of Bread), was shot on location in Italy, as was her short Ad Ipponion (Ode to Hipponion), Official Selection of the Cannes Film Festival SFC. She has made two feature-length documentaries, Terra sogna terra (Earth Dream Earth) and Testardi (Stubborn), and is currently in development on her first narrative feature, A Tigered Calm.

Lucia is Producer-Director, Correspondent and Editor of the TV program Italics (CUNY-TV).

NO ESCAPE Begins Performances Tonight at Cherry Lane Theater

KIT-Kairos Italy Theater--the preeminent Italian theater company in NY, proudly presents "NO ESCAPE," four One-Acts by Dino Buzzati, commemorating the 40th anniversary of his death.
